  inlägg: 895 | Följande meddelande kom med e-posten natten som gick  :Dear Colleagues, You may recall that, at last year’s European Youth Championships held in Riccione, Italy, it had been announced that Europe will be represented at the 2006 World Schools Team Championships by the top three teams of the final classification. These turned out to be the teams of Poland, Israel and Norway. However, later on, the Executive Council of the World Bridge Federation decided to extend participation, and this gave Europe at least five places at the championship. In accordance with the Riccione classification, the additional places go to the teams of Latvia and Sweden. The same decision provides one more to Europe, in case any other zone leaves a vacancy by not filling their quota. This is practically almost certain to happen, and this will allow Italy to participate too. Obviously, as it is standard practice in the EBL, should any country be unable or unwilling to participate, then the next country in the classification will be called to fill the gap. Accordingly, Denmark may wish to note the situation. As it has already been announced, the 2006 World Youth Team Championship will take place in Bangkok, Thailand from 29 July to 8 August. It will consist of two series – Juniors and Schools – played concurrently. Further details are in the process of being finalized with the local organizers and will be available by the end of February.
